we r an american if they are born here in Usa, or become a resident.
My family comes from parts of Mexico, Spain, and France and I call myself an American since I am one and am proud:)
Besides Usa has lots of room for many languages. and our brain has a ton of space to learn languages. the tops are english(of course), spanish, and asian languages. so persons r super useful to know here.
Oct 16, 2011 @ 17:28:28
Since bilingual public have brain’s section for each foreign language separatedly, foreign language like Japanese which has a lot of imported words confuses their brain.
Oct 16, 2011 @ 18:07:34
Any man who says hes American, but something else also, isn’t an American at all. We have room for but 1 flag, American flag, this excludes the red flag, which symbolizes all wars against liberty & civilization, just as much as it excludes any foreign flag of a nation to which we R hostile.
We have room for but 1 foreign language, the English foreign language, we have room for 1 sole loyalty, a loyalty to the American public.
Roosevelt Jan 3, 1919, three days before he died.

Obama tells us we need to learn other languages. He’s embarrassed for us. I for one could care less what Obama thinks; I’m doing perfectly well speaking one foreign language. I’m sick of politions getting voting into personnel then looking down his nose at me. How do U say, “I wanna cut his nuts off” in Spanish? OK that’s all for now, the spell check says all my English words R spelled properly, except Barack & Obama, R these some of them foreign words that he wants me to learn?
Oct 16, 2011 @ 19:31:45
Talk about an obvious pandering to another racial minority! This is so blatant its not amusing.
Remember, to Obama America is a racist hell-hole dominated by whites that do nothing more than vote Republican, cling to their religion and their guns, and now place down Hispanics too!
Besides, alot more public speak Chinese…like moi’!

Oct 16, 2011 @ 21:55:32
@gottsein234 I like the German foreign language, And for your Information most spanish public know english, If you’re German, I have met a lot of your country man and many speak spanish, And public who only know english are too ignorant or too stupid to learn a following foreign language, And in This American Continent Spanish is The Foreign language most spoken… If I lived in Europe I would know Spanish, English, German, French and Italian.. Ich Liebe Dich Amerika
Oct 16, 2011 @ 22:27:32

Thanks for this, as a mother raising 2 children in 3 languages, its excellent to see the certain it brings and keep going when the going gets tough!

I wish they had this when I was in school in the U.S. I got bullied by class mates and was labeled as retarded by the teachers since I spoke another foreign language. Seeing these interest & bilingual schools give me hope that racist “you can only speak one foreign language” mentality is losing ground. I’m a polyglot now and if I ever have kids I plot to expose them to as many languages as possible. If they want to focus on a certain one or two that’s their choice.
Oct 17, 2011 @ 03:22:18
if I have kids, I will only speak German to them if I stay in the US… having a grandma who only spoke German to me my whole life was the way I was bilingual and I have always just naturally understood German like we Americans know English so it is pretty simple…
Oct 17, 2011 @ 03:51:14
from where im from in texas, its a somewhat small town, but here and towns surrounded, being bilingual is discouraged huge time, i remember back in median school and junior high, time after time the teachers would tell us not to speak other languages and only speak in english only
Oct 17, 2011 @ 04:20:47
@mathstitch looks like you´re talking 3 languages to me
Oct 17, 2011 @ 04:59:38
@toocaran
If you can post on here then you still have that chance. You don’t need a school or a teacher to make an interest environment and become fluent in a foreign language, you can do it in your own home. In today’s age we have access to resources from all over the world. Just order a ton of native resources (books, movies, music, etc.; which don’t need to be culture at all)online. Take the founder of AJATT for example. He became fluent in Japanese in 18 months and was 21when he started

Oct 17, 2011 @ 11:26:21
@Rayce96 Scary? I find it inspiring.
Oct 17, 2011 @ 12:16:54
I’m really surprised the top comments aren’t about the real video. Seriously this is a pretty scary video. It’s something that is completely possible. Home grown Terrorism is one of the largest threats. Yeah, it’s not public fleeting in from Iraq since guess what, they get caught. It’s not only persons kind of terrorists though, some public thing of this kind of a thing as a “Revolution.” Just thought I’d say something about that

Oct 17, 2011 @ 13:02:44
@trollz4dalulz -you used the term hipster incorrect, you should have said a ignorant 15 year ancient. Hipster’s are the ones that wear really small skinny jeans and wear brightly colored sweatshirts.
Oct 17, 2011 @ 13:22:19
I can never figure out what this song means, help?
Oct 17, 2011 @ 13:53:37
@ trollz4dalulz So right, most public have no thought what most song are about in the first place. I found it kind offensive since I am 15….
Oct 17, 2011 @ 14:11:39
I like how everyone is all “Yeah this song completely describes me and how I want a free America” when they are probably just a 15 year ancient hipster with no thought what the public are protesting on Wall Street for so they agree just since it makes them feel cool about protesting for something.
Oct 17, 2011 @ 15:07:21
awsome band but i despise when im telling some one i like them and when i first say their name for some reason in their brain they quickly say rage against the machine and i just want to slap them
Oct 17, 2011 @ 15:42:16
“I’m thinking of adding this band to my to music, should I do it?”
