Dr. Carroll's Notebook

7th Annual International Merlot Conference #2, August 2007

In addition to talking about podcasting at the conference I described "Dr. Carroll's Biochemistry Class Notebook". This is a blog style resource for mini-lectures of my biochemistry course content given during the semester. These particular videos, hosted on YouTube, are geared toward the Introductory Biochemistry I teach to juniors and senior students at Xavier University of Louisiana. Thanks again Merlot for your attention.

I would like to thank Merlot for their selection of New Orleans for their 7th Annual Conference on Multimedia Education Resource for Learning and Online Teaching. Dr. Carroll's Notebook

Welcoming New Faculty

Welcome to Dr. Gloria MaGee to the Department of Chemistry. Dr. MaGee is one of a number of new faculty that Xavier University is planning to hire to fill the void caused by the hurricane. She joins us from Mississippi State University who I am certain was reluctant to give her up. Welcome Dr. MaGee, and thanks for the conversation.

Dr. Carroll's Notebook

Voices in the Rain, part 1

Getting student's perspective on the Summer course was interesting. Of course then it got me off on a lecture. Pardon my upstaging.

Joe Sample - Voices In The Rain Joe Sample, you and the Crusaders introduced me to modern and classical jazz.

Summer's over...listen to more voices in the rain!...part 2

It's been a long hot summer. Some students rose to the challenge of taking a difficult semester course in a five week summer session. Many faired well some others didn't. Here are a few who, faced with an impending Final Exam, are trying to probe me for details. This is a good group of students, all faired well and I wish them much success in their future endeavors.

Joe Sample - Voices In The Rain Joe Sample...love ya!
